Privacy Policy

The short version: Pic2Icon runs entirely on your computer. It has no network capability, no accounts, no analytics, no telemetry. We never see your images, your files, or anything about you. By design, permanently.

1. Data we collect

None. Pic2Icon does not collect, transmit, sell, or share any personal or usage data. The application contains no networking code — it cannot "phone home" even in error.

2. What stays on your device

Your images and outputs — saved next to the source files you choose.
Folder icons you apply — a hidden desktop.ini (and, for custom icons, a hidden icon copy) inside folders you explicitly select.
Preferences — %LocalAppData%\Pic2Icon\settings.ini.
A local diagnostic log — %LocalAppData%\Pic2Icon\pic2icon.log: operation and error records, capped at 512 KB, never leaves your device, delete it anytime.
Install records — the standard per-user (HKCU) uninstall registry entry and shortcuts.

3. Third parties

There are none. No third-party services, SDKs, ad networks, or analytics providers exist in Pic2Icon.

4. Children's privacy

Pic2Icon collects no data from anyone, including children.

5. Uninstalling

The bundled uninstaller removes the app, shortcuts, and registry entry. Your created files and applied folder icons remain yours and remain in place. Delete %LocalAppData%\Pic2Icon\ to remove settings and the log.

6. Changes

If a future version ever changes how the app handles data, we will update this policy, change the effective date, and describe the change plainly before you install that version.
